How It Works

Janumet works through the actions of its two main ingredients. Sitagliptin is a DDP-4 inhibitor that increases the levels of incretin that is released by the intestines. A hormone, incretin raises insulin levels during times when blood glucose levels are high. Sitagliptin also decreases the amount of glucose released by the body. On the other hand, metformin is a calledbiguanide that reduces the amount of glucose produced by the body. With the minimal amount produced, the glucose has an easier time in entering the different body tissues.
